Seminar on Stress-Free Living for Media Professionals

“Distress to De-Stress” organised for journalists from print & electronic media, at Brahma Kumaris Sirifort Rajyoga Center, New Delhi on 30th July, 2011

New Delhi : Celebrating its Platinum Jubilee, the Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya organised a seminar ‘From Distress to De-stress through Positive Thinking and Proper Communication’ for journalists at its Siri Fort Rajyoga centre here.

The programme was held in association with India World Foundation and attended by several journalists from print, electronic and social media.

Sister Maureen Chen, Senior Rajyoga Teacher and Stress Management Trainer from Sydney, enlightened the participants on the use of Rajyoga meditation to free the self from anxiety and worry and experiencing deep peace and power by connecting with the Supreme. Explaining the science behind it, she said through this meditation one is able to create such thoughts that soothe the mind and produce chemicals within that relax the body. Rajyoga meditation is thus a drug-free way to heal oneself.

Acknowledging the increasing stress in media, she said, Rajyoga meditation helps emerge the core values of human beings and enables them to reveal the truth with manners.

Sister Asha, Director of the Brahma Kumaris Om Shanti Retreat Centre in Manesar, guided the audience into a practical experience of meditation. Laying emphasis on the need to increase inner power to face challenges, she asked them to remain free from comparison, competition and commenting on others.

The session culminated in an interactive session in which Brother Brij Mohan, Editor of ‘Purity’, a spiritual magazine circulated in 130 countries, along with the sisters responded to the journalists’ queries.
